Science
The development of the scientific relations between nations,
if carried out on a continuous basis, proves to be the best and safest way to
ensure mutual understanding and enduring friendship. Between Germany and Greece
there has long been a fruitful cooperation in all scientific fields. Many young
Greeks have studied at German universities and were in this way later able to
show considerable achievements in various scientific fields. There are at present
about 200 Greek academics working at German universities as professors, lecturers
and assistants. Besides supported by the Alexander von Humboldt-Foundation many
Greek scientists in Germany could finish their studies successfully thus paving
the way for a successful career in Greece. The European Centre promotes
the German-Greek scientific exchange through collaborations between German and
Greek universities, but also in the framework of European exchange programmes
(Erasmus).
